The key members of the Cool-Curve team have always striven to design products that are more efficient, reliable and long lived than those available on the market. It’s wired into their psyche even when perhaps it wasn’t what the customer required; over-engineering might be another word for it.
So the development of the Circular Economy that encourages alternative ownership models and aims to eliminate waste plays to the team’s nature and encourages the development of better, higher quality products. Cool-Curve was established to apply this thinking to LED light bulbs and it is making good progress in their development.
Thinking the whole product cycle through led us to rethink how the process worked and has led to what we have called the CORR Principle.
The key difference between this and other Circular Economy models is regeneration, where the product is brought up to the latest specification, maybe the latest fashion, rather than just remanufactured to the original specification. This does require considerably more thinking and research during the creation phase but helps to ensure the product will still be desirable even after several regeneration cycles.
